Job Description
- Release Planning & Scheduling: Plan, schedule, and oversee software release cycles (major, minor, and emergency patches) across platforms. Develop and maintain a detailed release calendar that accounts for interdependencies across development teams, product lines, and business units.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth integration of new code into production. Serve as a liaison between departments to ensure proper communication and alignment on release timelines, objectives, and risks.
- Risk Management: Identify potential release risks and work proactively with teams to resolve conflicts or bottlenecks before they impact the schedule. Ensure that rollback plans are created and maintained to minimize risk in case a release causes production issues

Enforce release management processes, best practices, and compliance with ITIL or internal governance standards.
- Documentation & Communication: Manage the creation and updating of release documentation and release notes for every deployment, detailing new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. Facilitate release meetings (planning release request, post-release retrospectives) to ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as required by management, in line with evolving business needs (e.g., supporting change management initiatives or process improvements outside regular release duties).
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree related to the role
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the release management processes. Familiarity with ITIL best practices for Release and Change Management is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with source code version control systems (e.g., Git). Knowledge of infrastructure environments (development, testing, staging, production) and configuration management
- Risk & Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify risks and issues in release pipelines and to troubleshoot or coordinate resolutions quickly. Experience developing rollback plans and contingency strategies for deployments.
- Communication & Coordination: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to serve as the point of contact for multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams (developers, testers, operations, business users) and facilitate discussions (e.g., go/no-go meetings).
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional planning and organizational abilities to manage release calendars, multiple parallel releases, and change schedules. Attention to detail in documenting release steps and maintaining records.
- Adaptability: Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities, especially when handling emergency releases or last-minute changes. A mindset of continuous improvement, keeping abreast of new tools and methods to enhance release efficiency.
