The Financial Analysis and Budgeting Officer supports the Accounting Head in managing the company's financial planning, budgeting, and performance analysis processes. The role involves preparing financial forecasts, monitoring budget implementation, analyzing variances, and generating insights to guide financial decision-making. The position also ensures that financial data is accurate, reliable, and aligned with organizational goals and accounting standards.

I.     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/JOB or MAN SPECIFICATION

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Experience(s):

3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or management reporting.

Specific Knowledge:

  1. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.

2.   Proficiency in financial modeling and use of Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

3.   Understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.

4.   Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

II.   DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL PLANNING

a.  Assist the Accounting Head in preparing the annual operating and capital budgets.

b.  Collect, review, and consolidate budget inputs from various departments.

c.  Develop budget templates, tools, and guidelines to facilitate efficient preparation.

d.  Monitor and report on budget performance throughout the calendar year.

e.  Identify budget variances and assist in recommending corrective actions.

f.  Liaise with other departments to gather relevant financial data and support their budgetary needs.

g.  Provide technical support and training to department heads regarding budget preparation and monitoring.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS AND REPORTING

a.  Conduct detailed financial analyses, including cost, revenue, and profitability assessments.

b.  Prepare periodic management reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) summarizing financial performance.

c.  Support preparation of forecasts and scenario analyses based on operational and market data.

d.  Highlight financial trends and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decisions.

SUPPORT TO ACCOUNTING AND AUDIT FUNCTIONS

a.  Work closely with the Accounting Head to ensure budget and financial data align with accounting records.

b.  Assist in reconciling financial data used for budgeting and actual reporting.

c.  Support audit preparations by providing financial schedules, variance explanations, and budget documentation.

d.  Help ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory standards.

FINANCIAL SYSTEMS AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS

a.  Support the maintenance and improvement of financial and budgeting systems.

b.  Participate in automating and streamlining reporting processes.

c.  Identify opportunities for improving financial planning efficiency and accuracy.
