NURSING AIDE – OPERATING ROOM
Job Description
- Assists OR nurses in preparing the operating room and necessary supplies.
- Helps in patient preparation, positioning, and safe transport before and after surgery.
- Ensures cleanliness, sanitation, and proper disinfection of the OR and equipment.
- Performs basic support tasks such as arranging instruments, fetching supplies, and maintaining stock levels.
- Supports the surgical team by providing timely assistance during procedures (non-sterile tasks only).
- Disposes of used materials following infection control and hospital safety protocols.
- Coordinates with nurses and other staff to ensure smooth OR workflow.
- Maintains proper documentation of supplies and assists in inventory.
Qualifications
- At least High School Graduate or Senior High School Graduate
- Preferably with NC II – Healthcare Services
- Experience in OR or hospital setting is an advantage
- Knowledgeable in basic patient care and infection control
- Physically fit and able to assist in patient handling
- Able to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Organized, reliable, and able to work under pressure
