Customer service and order taking

  • Greet customers with a friendly attitude and present menus.
  • Take food and beverage orders, paying close attention to details like customization and dietary restrictions.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations for menu items and specialty drinks.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.

Food and beverage preparation

  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, and teas, according to company recipes and standards.
  • Assist with food preparation, including items like sandwiches, pastries, and snacks.
  • Operate and maintain coffee equipment like espresso machines and grinders.
  • Ensure all food and beverages are prepared and displayed in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Cashier and sales

  • Operate the POS system to accurately enter orders and process payments, including cash, credit, and other methods.
  • Handle cash transactions by counting money, returning correct change, and balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Be responsible for cash-handling accuracy and follow all company cash policies.
  • May involve tasks like validating credit cards and preparing daily sales reports.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area, including countertops, equipment, and dining areas.
  • Clean tables and remove debris from the dining area.
  • Restock supplies like cups, lids, coffee beans, and pastries throughout the shift.
  • Check that equipment is operating correctly and report any maintenance needs.
