Virtualization Server Engineer

An Alerts and Maintenance Engineer monitors customer IT systems, responds to alerts, handles tickets and escalated queries, and performs proactive maintenance on hyper-converged infrastructure to ensure stability and reliability.

Work Arrangement: WFH

Work Shift: Night Shift | 10:00PM-9:00AM PHT | Friday - Monday | 4x11

• This role needs a specialist who has good comms and willing to take/answer calls – there will be instances that this resource needs to contact or assist the customers over the phone.

• Call frequency/volume: Less than 15 calls a month (inbound and outbound)

• Design and implement technical solutions from our approved technology stack and to suggest new & innovative technology where applicable to client needs.

• Potential design of DaaS hosting platform, using Citrix Multi Tenancy on VMWare HCI platform

• Project documentation handover

• Senior escalation point for Managed Services Support teams

• Fully adhere to the incident and change management processes

• Constant improvement of technical capability, through training and knowledge share

• Delivery against job specific Key Result Areas (KRA's)

• Resolve the majority of escalated incidents using the available tools and documentation and by thoroughly researching known issues
• Manage your own ticket queue by prioritizing requests
• Forward incidents to the next level after using all internal resources
• Work with external vendors to resolve escalated incidents
• Ensure that service levels are respected
• Identify high priority tickets and communicate effectively through the means put in place
• Document issues and establish resolution procedures for the Service Center
• Administer server infrastructure, ensuring its availability and performance.
• Monitor and maintain server systems and related components.
• Configure and install various server devices and services, including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and backup solutions.
• Perform routine server maintenance, including firmware updates, system upgrades, and security configurations.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve server-related outages and issues effectively.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of server infrastructure and configurations.

Skills Needed:

• Excellent verbal and written comms skills

• At least 3 years' experience in a similar role

• Virtualization Expert – some candidates might have different virtualization platform expertise

• VxRail Specialist or Associate (DVC-Deploy or DVC-Manage) - priority

• VMWare design experience, must be at least VCP - priority

• Netscaler cluster installation and configuration

• Microsoft MCSE, MCSA, MCITP EA

• understanding of TCP/IP principals

• Citrix design and implementation experience - CCV-A, CCV-P,

• CCV-E. Virtualisation Specialist

• Experience with HCI platforms, Nutanix, VSAN

• Writing of Pre-Sales Client Proposals

• Commercial experience

• Citrix design and implementation, XenApp\XenDesktop 7.15 and above, includes WEM and Application Layering (Unidesk)

• Citrix Netscaler design and support for multi-site environments with automated DR using Global Server Load Balancing

• Multi Factor Authentication integration with Netscaler
