What is the job?

The Accountant 2 is responsible for performing full-cycle accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards. The role collaborates with internal teams to maintain the integrity of financial data, supports audit and tax requirements, and contributes to process improvements in accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries, and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate account balances and ensure the integrity of financial statements.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze variances and provide explanations for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory standards while supporting audits.
  • Participate in month-end/year-end closing and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of accounting experience in full-cycle or general ledger accounting, with relevant college education in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other accounting standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting systems such as CINC or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates reliability, ethical conduct, sound judgment, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; background in property management or real estate accounting is an advantage.
