AI/Machine Learning Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled AI & Machine Learning Engineer who also possesses strong backend development experience with PHP Laravel. This role will involve building, deploying, and maintaining intelligent systems that integrate seamlessly with existing platforms and operations.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands both ML/AI development and real-world system implementation, capable of transforming data-driven models into production-ready applications.

This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who can architect solutions end-to-end—from model design and training to integrating the model into live systems using Laravel frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

AI / Machine Learning Development

• Design, develop, train, and optimize ML models using Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, or equivalent frameworks.
• Build AI modules such as classification, prediction, NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems depending on project needs.
• Develop pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, training, evaluation, and automation.
• Continuously improve model performance and maintain version control of trained models.

System Integration & Backend Development

• Integrate AI models with PHP Laravel applications, ensuring smooth API-based or direct framework integration.
• Develop backend modules, middleware, services, and endpoints to support AI-driven features.
• Build scalable architecture capable of handling heavy data operations and real-time processing.
• Work with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) for training data, logs, and system outputs.

Architecture & System Building

• Design end-to-end systems that combine traditional software engineering with AI components.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to define system requirements and transform them into functional technology.
• Develop cloud-based solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) for model deployment, server management, or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for high performance.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Data, DevOps, Product, Marketing) to implement AI-driven features.
• Prepare documentation, system diagrams, and API references for internal use.
• Provide support, debugging assistance, and iterative improvements after deployment.
• Offer technical recommendations and propose innovative AI features that can enhance products and workflows.

Qualifications

• At least 2–4 years of experience in AI, ML engineering, backend engineering, or system development.
• Proven experience building machine learning models for production environments.
• Strong proficiency in PHP Laravel with hands-on backend system development experience.
• Strong coding skills in Python (for ML stack) and PHP (for backend/services).
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, HuggingFace, etc.
• Experience building and deploying RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with cloud-based deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build systems independently and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred (Optional but Advantageous)

• Experience working on OCR, image recognition, recommendation systems, or NLP models.
• Experience integrating AI into ecommerce, ERP, or workflow-based platforms.
• Knowledge of vector databases, LLM fine-tuning, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Ability to optimize models for cost-efficiency and speed.
