Provides manual support for land, topographic, and construction surveys by carrying and setting up surveying equipment, clearing survey lines, placing markers, and recording data as directed by the surveyor. Responsibilities also include basic equipment maintenance, site preparation, and adhering to safety protocols in various outdoor and construction environments.

  • Site Preparation: Clear vegetation, debris, and obstructions from survey areas to ensure clear lines of sight.
  • Equipment Handling:Transport, load, unload, and carry survey instruments and supplies.
  • Instrument Support:Assist in the setup, calibration, and safe use of surveying equipment like theodolites and total stations.
  • Data Collection:Hold survey rods at designated points, measure distances, angles, and elevations, and mark measurements with stakes, paint, or other identifiers.
  • Data Recording:Note readings, enter information into notebooks, and record measurements as instructed by the surveyor.
  • Equipment Maintenance:Perform periodic maintenance on survey tools and vehicles to keep them in working order.
  • Safety:Follow all safety protocols and company policies, working around heavy equipment and in various weather conditions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Physical Stamina: Capable of heavy lifting, carrying equipment, and performing physical tasks outdoors in diverse terrain.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision for measurements and data recording.
  • Basic Math Skills: Understanding of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry for calculations.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficient in using basic hand tools like hammers, picks, and shovels.
  • Communication: Ability to understand and follow instructions from surveyors and instrument operators.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
