Job Summary

We are looking for a Merchandise Planner to drive strategic financial planning across departments—ensuring sales, margin, and inventory productivity targets are met. This role is crucial in aligning financial goals with product strategies, using data-driven insights to optimize performance for both online and offline platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and execute merchandise financial plans and inventory forecasts
  • Collaborate with buying and merchandising teams to align on category strategies
  • Present Open-to-Buy (OTB) and monthly forecasts with actionable insights

Sales & Inventory Analysis

  • Analyze historical trends and current data to identify risks and opportunities
  • Recap actual sales vs. targets and create updated forecasts weekly/monthly
  • Reconcile top-down and bottom-up category/class plans

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Merchandising, Sales, Operations, and Corplan teams
  • Recommend markdown strategies, seasonal adjustments, and inventory flow improvements
  • Communicate business performance, forecasts, and action plans clearly and regularly

Process Management & Reporting

  • Lead in pre-season and in-season merchandise planning
  • Create and share performance reports, key KPIs, and business insights
  • Participate in brand initiatives and help drive process improvements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory analysis, or retail analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • Strong data interpretation, logical thinking, and business forecasting skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Strong collaboration mindset and ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Familiar with retail KPIs such as sales, gross margin, stock turns, SSR, etc.
