Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor / Procurement Staff will play a key role in supporting the Business & Development Department by overseeing project cost management and procurement activities. This position ensures cost efficiency, timely sourcing of quality materials, and effective supplier management to drive the success of ongoing and future projects. As part of a start-up environment, the role requires adaptability, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to balance both operational and strategic responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Surveying:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ) to support project bidding and business development.
  • Conduct cost feasibility studies for new projects and business proposals.
  • Track project costs, analyze financial variances, and prepare regular reports for management.
  • Support contract preparation, review, and negotiation to safeguard company interests.
  • Provide value engineering solutions to optimize project costs and profitability.

Procurement:

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure best value.
  • Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and procurement schedules.
  • Build and maintain a strong supplier database aligned with the company's growth strategy.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project schedules.
  • Implement cost-saving measures while upholding quality and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams to align procurement with operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in cost estimation, project procurement, and supplier negotiations
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, tendering processes, and local supply markets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of cost-estimation software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
