Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting proposal development and pre-sales activities for secure power and HVAC solutions. This role prepares transactional and project-based proposals for critical power, cooling, and HVAC equipment, working closely with customers, field sales teams, and manufacturer partners. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn configuration tools, product platforms, and equipment selection methodologies.

Responsibilities

Proposal Development – Secure Power

  • Prepare accurate proposals for UPS systems, CRAC units, rack enclosures, PDUs, busway, and related power infrastructure solutions.
  • Interpret customer specifications, architectural drawings, and engineering requirements for bids and projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, field sales representatives, and manufacturers to ensure pricing accuracy and scope compliance.

HVAC Equipment Specification and Proposals

  • Develop proposals for York Commercial, Light Commercial, Residential, and Hitachi air conditioning systems.
  • Select and specify HVAC equipment based on load requirements, application type, efficiency constraints, and mechanical drawings.
  • Support customers and contractors with proper equipment selection and configuration.

Product and Tool Expertise

  • Learn and utilize Schneider Electric and Vertiv configuration and quoting tools.
  • Use manufacturer tools to size HVAC equipment, configure system options, and generate accurate bills of material.
  • Maintain current knowledge of secure power and HVAC products, updates, and best practices.

Customer and Sales Support

  • Respond to customer and contractor inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, and availability.
  • Support field sales by preparing pre-sales documentation, technical comparisons, and proposal packages.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and channel partners.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming quote requests through CRM systems or shared inbox workflows.
  • Track active opportunities and follow up with customers as required.
  • Ensure all proposals meet internal standards for accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.

Experience, Education, and Qualifications

Required

  • Strong technical aptitude with willingness to learn electrical, mechanical, and HVAC fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to interpret specifications or construction documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals and competing deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience in HVAC, electrical equipment, mechanical contracting, or related technical fields.
  • Familiarity with Schneider Electric, Vertiv, York, or Hitachi products.
  • Prior experience in inside sales, estimating, or quoting roles.
  • Experience using CRM, ERP, or quoting software tools.
