JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Barista supports the daily operations of the café by assisting in beverage preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering friendly customer service. This role works closely with the Head Barista and other team members to ensure the smooth flow of operations and an excellent customer experience aligned with MODO's brand standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in preparing coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages following MODO's quality standards.
  • Greet customers warmly and take beverage orders accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, equipment, and customer areas.
  • Replenish supplies such as cups, lids, syrups, and condiments to ensure smooth service.
  • Support inventory monitoring and report stock shortages to supervisors.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitation procedures.
  • Observe and learn brewing techniques, latte art, and customer service skills.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • Support special café events, promotions, and other activities as required.
  • Promote the coffee bean and tea products to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in food service, café, or hospitality is a plus but not required.
  • Friendly, energetic, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Willingness to learn barista skills and develop professionally.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of coffee and beverage preparation is advantageous.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform routine cleaning tasks.
