The Barista is responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and tea beverages while providing an exceptional customer experience. This role requires a focus on accuracy, presentation, and customer service, ensuring each drink reflects the restaurant standards. The Barista will maintain a clean and organized workspace, manage inventory, and uphold the brand image through attention to detail and a passion for excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role, preferably in a high-end or luxury setting.
  • Familiarity with espresso machines, brewing techniques, and beverage preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

Beverage Preparation:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks, following recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of all beverages, adjusting taste, temperature, and presentation to meet customer expectations.

Customer Service:

  • Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, enhancing their experience by providing personalized service.
  • Take orders accurately, answer questions about beverage options, and offer suggestions to enhance the guest's visit.
  • Respond to customer preferences and accommodate special requests whenever possible.

Product Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the restaurant coffee and tea offerings, including origin, flavor profiles, and brewing techniques.
  • Educate guests on the restaurant's signature beverages and provide recommendations to enhance their experience.
  • Keep up-to-date with seasonal offerings, new recipes, and any special promotions.

Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Monitor coffee and tea inventory levels, communicating any supply needs to the manager or purchasing team.
  • Ensure proper storage of all coffee, tea, and beverage ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Assist in restocking supplies and organizing the barista station for efficient, high-quality service.

Equipment Maintenance and Cleanliness:

  • Clean and maintain all coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, according to standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of coffee equipment, coordinating with management for repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation, following health and safety regulations in beverage preparation and storage.

Hygiene and Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper labeling, temperature checks, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including counters, machines, and utensils, ensuring a pristine environment.
  • Conduct regular checks on supplies and equipment to ensure safety standards are consistently met.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other team members, including servers and kitchen staff, to provide seamless service to guests.
  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding customer preferences, orders, or any issues related to the barista station.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed, including supporting the front-of-house team during peak times.
