Company Description

Digital8 Inc. is looking for a Technical Director who's responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of broadcast and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct live and studio production management.
  • Conduct and lead the pre-production and technical planning.
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot technical equipment, including video switchers, audio consoles, monitors, encoders, recorders, and communication systems.
  • Oversee the broadcasting and streaming operations.
  • Provide technical assistance for the post-production and smooth media management.
  • Maintain technical documentation and enforce broadcast standards.
  • Resolve live technical issues quickly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Director or in a similar technical role in a live broadcast or production environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of broadcast equipment, software, and systems.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities, particularly during live productions.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging broadcast technologies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and extended shifts as needed.

Required Tools and Technologies

  • Knowledgeable in Video/Audio Equipment: ATEM switchers, TriCaster, OBS, audio mixers, intercom systems.
  • Knowledgeable in Signal Management: SDI routers, HDMI converters, streaming encoders, playback servers.
  • Knowledgeable in Software Platforms: vMix, OBS Studio, Wirecast, Adobe Media Encoder, Dante Controller.

  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when working with sensitive or high-profile content.
