Job Description:

The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing a specific kitchen section, ensuring high-quality preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes. This role supervises commis chefs, maintains kitchen organization, follows food safety standards, and contributes to menu execution while supporting overall kitchen efficiency.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead operations in an assigned kitchen section (hot, cold, pastry, etc.)
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to recipes and quality standards
  • Supervise, train, and guide junior kitchen staff
  • Ensure proper storage and freshness of ingredients
  • Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and equipment care
  • Monitor portion control and minimize food waste
  • Collaborate with other sections to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with menu planning, specials, and improvements
  • Follow kitchen safety and sanitation regulations
  • Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Head Chef

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CDP or strong background as a Demi Chef
  • Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
  • Ability to manage time and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Culinary degree or certificate preferred
  • Willing to relocate to any Astoria property
