KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Transport patients on wheelchairs, rolling beds and wheeled stretcher to carry patient's from/to other area of the hospital, such as X-ray or Operating Room for treatment/procedure on time and to ensure patient's safety.

Follow proper procedures for lifting and moving patients.

Daily checks and ensures the availability of oxygen tanks in his area and returns empty tanks.

Responsible for picking up and dropping off medicines, equipment's, supplies and other specimens as directed by the nurse.

Sends requests to other areas and/or departments. (E.g. OR, Endoscopy, X-ray, Lab Request).

Answer calls for help and determine if additional help is needed.

Responsible for setting up, bringing down and cleaning equipment when needed.

Good personal and organizational habits are necessary and with proper hygiene.

Accompanies and assists patient for discharged.

10.   Transports cadaver to morgue.

11.   Complies with other duties and function as delegated or as maybe required by the job.

12.   Transfers to and pro of laundry to the linen department in the absence of the nursing aide.

13.   Performs other tasks that may be asked by immediate superior.

NURSING ORDERLY – Qualifications

  • At least High School Graduate or Senior High School Graduate
  • Preferably with NC II – Healthcare Services (but not required)
  • With experience in a hospital or clinical setting (an advantage)
  • Physically fit and able to assist in patient handling and transport
  • Knowledgeable in basic infection control practices
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision of nurses
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Trustworthy, patient, and service-oriented
  • Can work in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
