As a Structural Engineer, you will:

  • General structural engineering design for building structure projects assisting BG&E's structural engineering teams from Australia, UK and NZ.
  • Design of structural building elements such as foundations, columns, walls, slabs, roofs, awnings to the relevant national standards and codes (i.e Australian Standards, British Standards, EuroCode).
  • -Design of various structural materials and construction systems such as steel, reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete.
  • Design to BG&E Design Guidelines and checklists.
  • Liaise with managing engineers and work to the agreed time frames.
  • Mark-up designs to initiate drafting, then liaise with the drafting team and back-check the formal drawings.
  • Save neat engineering calculations and software files in project folders.

What You Need:
Non-negotiables

  • Bachelor of Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience in the building structures sector.
  • Working knowledge of structural design software such as of Etabs, RAM Concept, RAPT, Microstran/SpaceGas, IdeaStatica, and Strand7 (note proficient experience in all of the listed software is preferable but not a pre-requisite).
  • General understanding of construction and required structural detailing.
  • General understanding of project risks and opportunities.
  • Sound working knowledge Revu Bluebeam preferable but not critical.
  • Experience with Australian Standards preferable but not critical.
