Job Title: Steward

Primary Role: A steward is responsible for day-to-day housekeeping requirements. They must be able to perform their assigned tasks to support the restaurants goal by providing maximum guest satisfaction through effective cleaning and sanitizing of all areas, furniture and equipment of the restaurant. They must promote food safety and occupational safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all areas of the restaurant are neat, clean and organized.
  • Monitor storage areas are always clean and organized to prevent pests and other threats to food safety.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of wares and supplies and use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals correctly and safely.
  • Setup all washing equipment, garbage disposal and cleaning and sanitizing supplies throughout the entire kitchen.
  • Use and clean all tools and equipment carefully and report tool and equipment that needs repair.
  • Perform tasks and projects relevant to his tasks and as instructed by immediate superiors.

What we need:

  • Previous experience in a similar function is preferred
  • Food Safety related trainings such as Food Safety and Sanitation trainings is an advantage
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • Takes initiative and is self-motivated
  • Good verbal and written communication skills is an advantage
  • Carries oneself in a neat and presentable manner
