About the Role

This role is ideal for a team player who is organised, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing bookkeeping functions using cloud-based systems (particularly Xero). You will play a vital part in ensuring accurate, on-demand financial information for clients.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping functions across multiple client accounts.
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS).
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate ledgers.
  • Manage payroll processes, including superannuation and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare invoices and manage billing cycles.
  • Support accountants and CFOs with financial reporting and compliance.
  • Liaise directly with clients to ensure financial information is delivered promptly and accurately.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' proven experience as a Bookkeeper.
  • Strong proficiency with Xero accounting software.
  • Demonstrated ability in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, BAS/IAS preparation, and invoicing.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple client priorities.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with Australian clients.
  • Familiarity with healthcare sector clients (highly regarded).
  • Knowledge of Australian accounting and tax compliance requirements.
