Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the Finance and Accounting Department in day-to-day financial operations. The role involves maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and supporting the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Philippine regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities – General Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Record and post daily financial transactions such as expenses, receipts, and disbursements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts in accordance with accounting standards
- Prepare and post journal entries, including adjusting entries and accruals
- Maintain and update subsidiary ledgers for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable balances
- Review cash advances liquidation and prepare monthly reports on outstanding or unliquidated cash advances
- Audit and prepare payments of all reimbursements for various expenses
- Monitor employee's cash advances for projects and operations
- Audit replenishment of Petty Cash fund
- Reconcile subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger on a monthly basis
- Support the preparation of financial reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations for periodic closing activities such as monthly and year-end closing of accounts
- Maintain organized and complete filing of vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents
- Provide documentation and data for internal or external audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies
- Generate trial balances and prepare support schedules for financial reporting
Qualifications:
- BS Accountancy graduate
- 1–2 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping is preferred but FRESH GRADUATES ARE MOST WELCOME TO APPLY
- Familiarity with Philippine accounting and taxation standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, or other ERP systems)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
