"IMPORT MANAGER"

Job description:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or Business Administration.

Minimum of 5 years in import or supply chain management, with leadership experience preferred.

Any import experience is acceptable for this role.

Certifications in international trade (e.g., CIFF, Certified Customs Specialist) preferred.

Vendor Relations and Supplier Management

Negotiate terms with international suppliers and shipping companies.

Maintain positive working relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.

Import Process Management

Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.

Oversee the timely processing of import documentation (e.g., bills of lading, invoices, certificates).

Coordinate with customs and other regulatory authorities to ensure smooth customs clearance.

Cost and Budget Management

Monitor and control import costs, including shipping fees, duties, and taxes.

Create budgets for import activities and ensure adherence to cost control measures.

Team Management and Development

Lead and mentor the import team, including Import Officers.

Coordinate training for team members to stay updated on compliance and regulatory changes.

Coordination with Internal Departments

Work closely with procurement, sales, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment on product deliveries and import schedules.

Liaise with legal and compliance teams for regulatory approvals and risk management.

Problem Resolution and Process Improvement

Address and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, customs disputes, and document discrepancies.

Continuously optimize the import process for greater efficiency.

Reporting and Metrics

Prepare detailed reports on import activities, costs, and KPIs for senior management.

Track and analyze performance metrics such as lead times, compliance rates, and cost per shipment.
