Project Manager

POSITION: Construction Project Manager

Abelcon Builders Corporation is looking for effective Project Manager who will plan, coordinate, and oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with Philippine laws, quality standards, and client specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field

· PRC License for Civil Engineers

· 3-5 years of Experience as Project Manager

· Project Management Certifications (optional but increasingly valued): PMP (Project Management Professional – by PMI); CCPM (Certified Construction Project Manager – CIAP/Philippine Constructors Association); PRINCE2 (common in multinational companies); PMI-ACP or Agile/Scrum certifications (for tech-related or hybrid construction projects)

· OSHC/DOLE Safety Training: Construction Safety and Health (COSH) Training (required for site managers and supervisors); BOSH (Basic Occupational Safety and Health) – for office-based manager; Must comply with DOLE Department Order No. 13 on Construction Safety.

· Project scheduling and planning (using MS Project, Primavera, or Gantt charts)

· Budgeting, cost control, and value engineering; Interpretation of blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.

· Knowledge on AutoCAD / SketchUp, MS Project / Primavera, Bluebeam / Procore (for international firms), and Excel (advanced use for budgeting and scheduling).

· Leadership and team management

· Effective communication with contractors, clients, LGUs, and regulatory bodies

· Negotiation and conflict resolution

· Time management and multitasking

· Adaptability, especially for site-based work in various provinces or regions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Project Planning and Initiation. Develop the project scope, timeline, and deliverables based on client requirements and design plans. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants during project pre-construction planning.

· Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and manage project budgets, BOQs, and cost estimates; Monitor actual costs vs. approved budget to prevent overruns; Review and approve purchase orders, subcontractor billings, and change orders; Implement value engineering strategies where needed.

· Contractor and Team Management: Select, negotiate with, and supervise subcontractors and suppliers; Oversee the performance of site engineers, foremen, and laborers; Ensure that manpower allocation and productivity are aligned with the construction schedule.

· Site Supervision and Execution: Regularly inspect the site to ensure work aligns with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards; Ensure proper implementation of safety protocols in accordance with DOLE Department Order No. 13 and OSHC regulations; Coordinate toolbox meetings, safety drills, and compliance audits.

· Permitting, Compliance, and Documentation: Ensure all construction works comply with: National Building Code of the Philippines, DPWH and LGU ordinance, Environmental compliance (ECC, PD 1586), Fire Code, Electrical Code, and Plumbing Code, Maintain up-to-date project documentation: As-built plans, Progress reports, Inspection logs, Materials submittals, RFI (Request for Information) tracking.

· Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular coordination meetings with project stakeholders (client, consultants, engineers, contractors); Monitor construction progress vs. milestones and update Gantt charts or MS Project schedules; Submit weekly and monthly progress reports to management or clients.

· Quality Control: Ensure that construction methods and materials meet Philippine quality standards and client specifications

· Turnover and Project Closeout: Coordinate final inspections, punch list completion, and client acceptance of the project.
