Billing Staff

Job Summary

To accurately and process patient Statement of Account (SOA) in a timely manner. Request Credit Note on disputed charges. Check room and board charges and apply adjustment if necessary. Validates professional fees. Validates HMO coverage in LOA vs SOA as endorsed by the HMO officer. Deducts applicable discounts, checks accuracy of charges and validates Philhealth deduction. Presents the final bill to the patient/relative. Prints provisional SOA for request of temporary bill. Monitors current inpatient's progress payment. Promptly responds to concerns and complaints of patients/relatives and takes appropriate action.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Generates and prints daily admission reports first thing in the morning.
• Generates and prints daily discharge summary of the preceding day.
• Monitors account of admitted patients on a daily basis and request for payment update
• Receives unsettled Statement of account at the cashier, revert account if the Cashier on duty was unable to revert/revoke discharge.
• Endorses statement of account with Philhealth, HMO, and outstanding accounts to credit and collection.
• Computes room & board charges, necessary discounts if any, and finalizes the patient's Statement of Account accurately and timely.
• Coordinates with the HMO and Philhealth Associate for Philhealth and HMO coverage.
• Monitor discharges via HIS and ensure that all accounts with medical discharge will be processed within the required turnaround time.
• Checks patient accounts if Professional Fees are being charged by the doctors concerned, otherwise charge Professional Fee as endorsed.
• Handles personal and online/phone inquiries timely and efficiently, while observing proper phone etiquette
• Responds to internal and external customer queries accurately with utmost respect and maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times
• Maintains Statement of Account copy of all discharged patients, logs it and endorses to cashier, philhealth and Credit and Collection accordingly.
• Generates and prints statement of account, sign, checks deductions and discounts if present before presenting to the patient/relative.
• Informs patients with discharge notice to proceed to Billing for settlement of their account.
• Responsible for presenting an account, making sure the patient/relative affirm signature as proof of acknowledgement & receiving necessary documents.
• Endorses all unsettled accounts to the Cashier after Billing office hours
• Other duties that may be assigned or other ad hoc tasks and projects that may be assigned

Job Qualifications

• Graduate of any 4-year course, preferably business-related
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Preferably with billing experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php18,000.00 per month
