OR Staff Nurse

Job Summary
Responsible for rendering efficient, safe, quality and excellent nursing care to patients in the Operating Room and Recovery Room that adheres to the Standards of Professional Nursing Practice in the Philippines, Code of Ethics of the Registered Nurses, Patients' Bill of Rights, other regulatory and mandatory standards, and laws guided by the hospital's mission, vision, and core values.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
A. CLIENT CARE
1. Practices in accordance with the Legal Principles and Code of Ethics in making personal and professional judgment.
1.1. Adheres to the ethico -legal considerations by rendering safe, and quality care in accordance with the institutional policies and procedural guidelines.
1.2. Utilizes ethical reasoning in the decision-making process related to patient care.
1.3. Performs nursing care within the scope of the Philippine Nursing Law and the terms of contract of employment with HCCH.
1.4. Advocates the Patient's Bill of Rights and Obligations by implementing strategies and interventions to protect Client's rights.
1.5. Implements the informed consent policy by acting as a witness while obtaining the signed consent.
1.6. Demonstrates accountability of care within the scope of nursing practice.
1.7. Acts as a scrub, circulation or RR nurse.
2.Utilizes the nursing process in the interdisciplinary care of clients that empowers the clients and promotes safe quality care.
2.1.Performs comprehensive and systematic nursing assessment utilizing appropriate methods and tools such as the Adult Patient Assessment Form for adult patients or Pediatric Patient Assessment Form for pediatric patients.
2.2. Formulates a surgical plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team, clients, and families.
2.3. Implements the surgical plan of care to address the healthcare needs of the client utilizing therapeutic strategies and interventions.
2.4. Documents the client's response to the care plan.
2.5. Evaluates and modifies the plan of care to meet expected outcomes.
2.6. Assists clients perioperatively, post-operatively and during recovery as determined by the Nursing Service and can be floated to other units within the hospital as the need arises.
3. Maintains complete, accurate and up to date recording and reporting system.
3.1. Ensures completeness, accuracy, and safety of information of the client's records by conforming with the documentation standards.
3.2. Adheres to the Data privacy Act and institutional policies in safekeeping and releasing client records.
3.3. Utilizes the Hospital Information System with competence.
4. Establishes collaborative relationships with colleagues and other members of the team to enhance nursing and other health care services.
4.1.Utilizes the e-SBAR in communicating care plans to the healthcare team.
4.2. Participates in the multi-disciplinary team meetings and rounds.
5. Promotes professional and personal growth and development.
5.1. Demonstrates competence by engaging in lifelong learning and personal development based on the training plan of Nursing Service and HRD.
5.2. Participates and engages in professional activities within the network.
5.3. Complies with regulatory requirements by completing the required Continuing Professional Education.
5.4. Complies with the annual proficiency knowledge and skills examinations.
B. MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
1. Demonstrate management and leadership skills to provide safe and quality care
1.1 Utilizes appropriate and efficient strategies and methods to manage client needs.
1.2. Demonstrates delegation and supervision skills to nursing support staff.
1.3. Participates in continuous quality improvement and quality assurance projects and activities
C. RESEARCH
1. Engages in Nursing or health related research with or under the supervision of an experienced researcher.
1.1. Applies evidence based and best practices to clients at bedside.
1.2.Participates in nursing research conducted within the network.
D. OTHERS
1.Other ad hoc tasks and projects that may be assigned
- May be asked to assist with administrative tasks related to the department
Job Specifications/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduate
● Passed the Nursing Licensure Examination
● Member of Philippine Nurses Association
● Member of Philippine Oncology Nurses Association (PONA)
Preferred:
● Has attended the Chemotherapy Course for Nurses by the Philippine Oncology Nurses Association (PONA)
● Underwent the Perioperative Training Course within the institution or to any accredited association and training programs by PRC
Work Experiences
With at least 6 to 12 months of nursing experience assigned to OR
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php28, Php30,000.00 per month
