Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the repair and maintenance of our retail stores. The ideal candidate will ensure that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards, optimizing the customer experience while minimizing operational disruptions. You will collaborate closely with store management and external contractors to manage both routine and emergency maintenance tasks, contributing to a safe and functional retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Perform regular inspections of store facilities to identify necessary repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate and execute repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules to avoid disruptions and extend the lifecycle of equipment.

Project Management:

  • Plan and oversee minor renovation projects and refurbishments, ensuring minimal impact on store operations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, ensuring quality standards and timelines are met.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and repairs conducted.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure facilities adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Address emergency repair needs promptly to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.

Budget Management:

  • Monitor and manage maintenance budgets effectively, seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Source and manage inventory for necessary tools, equipment, and repair supplies.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Liaise with store management to understand specific maintenance needs and priorities.
  • Provide regular updates to the Facilities Manager regarding ongoing projects and upcoming maintenance requirements.
  • Educate store staff on proper use and basic troubleshooting of store facilities and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in facilities management, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards and regulations.
