COMPANY PROFILE:Elev8 Holdings, Inc. was born on September 23, 2011, to offer world-class quality support services to its subsidiaries. Since its inception, Elev8 Holdings now includes Legal and Compliance Department, which handles all legal risks and governmental compliances, and the Continual Quality Improvement Department, which ensures the continuous improvement of the organization by abiding by ISO 9001 standards. By February 7, 2018, the management decided to align its corporate structure with its goal to become a public company and incorporated Elev8 Holdings, Inc which now houses the Group's Corporate Support Services.
JOB SUMMARY:The Legal Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and support to the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This role involves managing the legal team, overseeing legal matters, handling litigation, and working closely with other departments to minimize legal risks and safeguard the organization's interests. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Legal Advisory and Compliance:
- Provide accurate, timely, and strategic legal advice to the management and various departments.
- Ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize various types of contracts and legal documents.
- Ensure that contracts are in the best interest of the organization and mitigate potential risks.
Litigation Management:
- Handle and oversee litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution processes.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as necessary.
- Develop strategies to resolve disputes in the most cost-effective manner.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Advise on risk management issues and develop proactive solutions to protect the organization.
Corporate Governance:
- Ensure the organization adheres to corporate governance standards and practices.
- Assist in the preparation of board meetings, including drafting resolutions and maintaining records.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the legal team, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of legal services.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Liaison and Coordination:
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure legal alignment with business objectives.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized legal files and records.
- Ensure timely and effective documentation and archiving of legal documents.
Other Duties:
- Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry standards.
- Perform other legal-related duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) is required.
- Master's degree in law (LLM) or relevant certifications are preferred.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in a state bar.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a legal role, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial position.
- Experience in corporate law, contract management, and litigation is essential.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
