PRINCIPAL OBLIGATION: Lead and direct implementation and achievement of long range and annual sales, direct market contribution and market share objectives of products by overseeing general sales operations, marketing and promotional activities. Ensure overall performance of existing and new products in terms of sales revenues, sales volume, distribution, merchandising, expense management and bottom line profitability consistent with company policies and reglamentary procedures
A. MANAGEMENT
Oversee, lead and generate sales operation, marketing and promotional strategies to achieve sales and bottomline profitability; maximizing available resources and effective management of cost and expenses. Specifically,
- Planning & Decision Making
a. MARKETING - Take the lead in overseeing current business undertaking in sales, advertising and promotional activities
- Conceptualize, build and develop new business or expand current business
- Maintain equitable distribution between operational and promotional expenses as against profits generated
- Review, approve long range, annual marketing and sales plans and annual business plan within prescribed guidelines and format
- Direct the preparation of promotions and advertising budget consistent with approved long range and annual product plans
- Oversee implementation of approved promotion and advertising programs within set schedules
- Oversee the monitoring and control of the implementation of promotion and advertising programs taking corrective action, if needed
- Ensure that monitoring and control systems are in place
- Ensure evaluation system is in place
- Recommend, initiate implementation of re-launch or phase-out of existing products
- Identify, recommend cost improvement projects and market research programs
- Assist in the conceptualization and implementation of product related training programs for marketing staff
- Conduct store checks to monitor promotional programs and competitive activities
- Ensure proper implementation of effective product targeting, positioning and profiling
- Encourage regular feedback regarding customer reactions to promotional messages
- Ensure proper understanding and implementation of the plans of action by staff
b. SALES
1. Set sales directions and objectives in coordination with sales force
2. Formulate sales plans and ensure implementation of these plans
3. Update sales staff on new trends and sales developments and implement corrective measure to improve performance
4. Initiate motivation and incentivation schemes
5. Ensure availability of stocks at all times in all sales outlets
6. Regularly evaluate the sales force organizational structure and initiate changes if necessary
7. Facilitate and approve general sales target/quota giving sales staff proper guidance in forecasting
B. POLICY MAKING
a. Set sales objectives in coordination with sales force
b. Formulate implementing policies and guidelines on Sales schemes and advertising and promotional activities and submits these for approval.
c. Implement approved policies and ensure adherence of sales force to these policies and procedures.
C. PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT
Formulate programs and activities to enhance capabilities of staff. Specifically,
a. Recommend the conduct of needed training courses
b. Set up an effective appraisal system for regular evaluation of performance of sales force
c. Oversee, monitor all activities to improve customer relations
d. Ensure continuous upgrading of product knowledge, selling skills and career development of personne
