About the Role

The Manager – Accounting & Internal Controls Consulting leads project-based consulting engagements within the Business Process & Controls (BPC) Practice Unit. You will manage multiple client projects focused on finance process improvement, internal controls enhancement, and operational efficiency for finance and accounting teams.

As the engagement lead, you will oversee project planning, client onboarding, team management, service delivery, and timely resolution of issues, ensuring all engagements meet scope, timeline, and quality standards. You will mentor and coach junior team members, manage client relationships, and contribute to continuous improvement of methodologies, frameworks, and overall practice performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Client Management

• Lead multiple finance and accounting consulting engagements from kickoff to delivery.
• Oversee client onboarding, engagement planning, execution, and issue resolution.
• Monitor service delivery against agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards.
• Review project profitability, team productivity, and ensure timely collection of fees.
• Present project performance and recommendations to client executives and boards, when applicable.

People Management & Leadership

• Mentor and coach project teams, including Junior Managers and Team Leaders.
• Evaluate team performance, approve hiring, and guide professional development plans.
• Ensure clear communication of project goals, expectations, and feedback to all team members.

Process & Controls Expertise

• Review client finance and accounting processes, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Recommend and implement internal controls (e.g., segregation of duties, reconciliations, governance).
• Develop methods to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of service delivery.

Practice Unit Contribution

• Drive continuous improvement of delivery methodologies and frameworks.
• Collaborate across practice units for integrated client service offerings.
• Contribute to practice unit objectives, including resource allocation and revenue targets.

Qualifications

• BS Accountancy or related degree;
  CPA license highly desirable
  .
• 5–7 years progressive experience in
  finance process improvement, accounting, internal controls, audit, or consulting
  , including
  3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
  .
• Strong
  project management and client engagement experience
  , including planning, monitoring, and reporting.
• Experience in
  reviewing productivity, resource allocation, and project profitability
  .
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.
• Familiarity with
  Xero, Fathom, Google Workspace
  , or similar finance and collaboration tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
