
Nutritionist/Maternal Health Expert

The Public Health Officer at Glory Reborn plays a key role in strengthening the organization's public health presence through the development and execution of health education, community outreach, advocacy and preventive care programs with focus on maternal and child nutrition for the first 1000 days of life. This position ensures that all public health initiatives align with national health policies, respond to community needs, and reflect Glory Reborn's mission to deliver compassionate, holistic maternal, newborn, and family care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development and Planning
- Design and implement health promotion and prevention programs focused on maternal, newborn, child health, family planning, and community wellness.
- Create annual public health action plans and strategic goals in coordination with the Executive Director and Clinic Director.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to identify public health needs and translate them into actionable community projects.
- Develop culturally relevant health education, maternal and child nutrition materials (brochures, posters, videos, and digital content).
Community Outreach and Mobilization
- Organize and lead health outreach events in identified communities and barangays.
- Mobilize and train community health volunteers to serve as health advocates.
- Establish and maintain relationships with LGUs, DOH, barangay health offices, schools, and partner organizations to strengthen health program delivery.
- Conduct regular community visits and health needs assessments.
Health Education and Training
- Facilitate health seminars, workshops, and classes on topics such as prenatal care, newborn care, nutrition, family planning, mental health, hygiene, and immunization.
- Organize monthly clinic-based health education for patients and their families.
- Provide continuous training for Glory Reborn staff and volunteers on public health updates, protocols, and preventive measures.
Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting
- Develop and manage systems for consistent data collection on outreach activities, program participation, and community health indicators.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports summarizing findings and recommendations for management and donors.
- Use data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic program adjustments, and present data insights during internal meetings to foster understanding and collaboration across departments.
Policy Compliance and Representation
- Ensure that all public health activities are compliant with DOH regulations, local health ordinances, and national health goals.
- Represent Glory Reborn in health-related meetings, summits, and training hosted by government agencies or partner NGOs.
- Assist in updating internal policies and protocols based on new health advisories, research, or policy changes.
Collaboration and Team Support
- Work closely with nurses, midwives, social workers, admin staff, and leadership to integrate public health into daily clinic operations.
- Participate in clinic events, community celebrations, organizational development activities, and clinic disaster preparedness and emergency response initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Development, or a related field (Master's degree or further public health certification is an advantage).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven work experience in public health program development, community outreach, or health education
- Strong understanding of maternal and child health and nutrition, public health systems, and community-based health strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Cebuano.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Confident public speaker and trainer with strong facilitation skills.
- Skilled in building collaborative relationships with government, community leaders, and partner organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel locally for outreach activities and community engagements.
