Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Humanities, or other GE-related disciplines)
- Preferably with doctorate-level education or ongoing doctoral studies.
- 3–5 years of teaching experience in General Education course
- Prior role as program coordinator, department chair, or equivalent preferred
- Strong grounding in interdisciplinary teaching and Outcomes-Based Education (OBE)
- Experience in curriculum development, faculty management, or accreditation processes
- Knowledge and experience implementing CMO No. 20, s. 2013 and related mandates (RA 1425, Filipino/Panitikan directives, and GE electives policy updates)
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Implementation
- Ensure that the institution's General Education (GE) curriculum complies with CHED CMO No. 20, s. 2013, including the proper offering of:
- 24 units of Core GE courses
- 3 units of the mandated Rizal course (RA 1425)
- 9 units of GE electives (when not deferred)
- Continuously strengthen the relevance of GE courses to equip students with essential skills for the modern workforce—such as critical thinking, ethical reasoning, communication, and adaptability—while integrating emerging technologies like AI.
- Faculty Supervision and Development
- Ensure faculty members teaching GE courses meet CHED qualifications.
- Facilitate the professional development and training of GE faculty per CHED and institutional guidelines.
- Instructional Oversight
- Supervise delivery, learning outcomes, and quality assurance of GE courses.
- Ensure alignment of course content and assessment methods with CMO-prescribed outcomes in intellectual competencies, personal and civic responsibilities, practical skills, and career-readiness competencies relevant to industry demands.
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Lead the evaluation of GE program effectiveness and compliance with CHED standards.
- Recommend curriculum improvements and updates based on policy changes, technological advancements, or institutional goals to maintain the program's relevance and impact.
