Job Brief

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst who can gather, understand, and translate business needs into clear and actionable documentation for our engineering, product, and project teams.

This role is ideal for individuals who excel in comprehension, enjoy working with complex information, and are committed to accuracy and clarity.

As a Junior Business Analyst, you will support discovery activities, requirement gathering, process mapping, and documentation across multiple client projects. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Product Managers, and Engineering Leads to ensure that business needs are correctly interpreted and aligned with the technical solutions being built.

This position also serves as a developmental role with two possible career tracks:

• Project Coordinator (Junior) – for those with strengths in coordination, structure, and execution.
• Product Associate (Junior) – for those inclined toward product thinking, prioritization, and user-centric problem solving.

This role provides exposure to both paths and allows you to explore which career direction best fits your strengths.

Core Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

• Gather and analyze business needs, workflows, and user requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and documentation reviews.
• Translate client needs into clear business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Assist in creating process maps, user flows, and documentation that reflect current and future-state operations.

Documentation & Information Management

• Maintain comprehensive and well-organized documentation repositories.
• Ensure all requirements, decisions, changes, and clarifications are properly recorded and accessible.
• Synthesize large bodies of information and convert them into concise, accurate documentation.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure alignment between business requirements, scope, schedules, and deliverables.
• Support Product Managers in researching features, gathering user insights, and shaping product backlog items.
• Liaise with engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve gaps or inconsistencies.

Quality Validation

• Support QA by reviewing test cases and verifying alignment with requirements.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring the solution meets documented expectations.

Preparation for Dual Career Path

• Project Path Exposure: Gain experience in project tracking, stakeholder communication, and scope governance.
• Product Path Exposure: Participate in feature analysis, prioritization activities, and product research.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Conduct discovery calls and requirements workshops with clients and stakeholders.
• Document business needs, use cases, user stories, and process flows in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Notion, or similar.
• Track and clarify open questions, decision points, and requirement updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and update workflow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and user journey maps.
• Analyze existing processes and systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Product Managers in backlog grooming sessions.
• Support the team by preparing meeting minutes, summaries, and structured documentation.
• Assist in validating deliverables to ensure alignment with requirements.
• Maintain an organized knowledge base of project artifacts, research outputs, and requirement documentation.

Career Path (Built Into the Role)
Option 1: Project Coordinator (Junior)

If the candidate excels in structure, planning, administration, documentation, and coordination, they may transition into a Junior Project Coordinator role where they will:

• Manage communication flows
• Support project scheduling and reporting
• Govern scope and expectations
• Liaise closely between the client and engineering teams

Option 2: Product Associate (Junior)

If the candidate shows strengths in critical thinking, product sense, and user empathy, they can move toward a Product Associate role where they will:

• Support backlog shaping and prioritization
• Conduct user research and competitor analysis
• Help validate features and measure product outcomes
• Assist in product strategy execution

Requirements and Skills
Must-Have Skills

• Exceptional comprehension ability, can rapidly absorb, interpret, and synthesize large volumes of information.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to create clear process flows, diagrams, and user stories.
• High level of organization and ability to maintain structured documentation.
• Comfort working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical & Tooling Skills

• Experience with documentation and PM tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Notion, Miro, FigJam).
• Basic understanding of software development processes, Agile methodologies, and SDLC concepts.
• Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, user flows, and functional documents.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience or exposure to QA and UAT processes.
• Background in business process analysis or software projects.
• Familiarity with project management or product management practices.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
