Senior QA Automation Lead Job Overview

This role is responsible for leading the quality assurance strategy across teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of web and software products.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience in manual and automation testing, as well as leadership experience. Strong knowledge of testing tools and techniques is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement testing strategies, frameworks, and best practices across all projects.
  • Drive test planning, prioritization, and execution of both manual and automated testing across frontend, backend, and mobile systems.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reusable automated test scripts that simulate end-to-end user interactions across platforms.
  • Monitor automation test coverage and execution results, ensuring issues are identified early and release cycles are efficient and reliable.
  • Review test results and quality metrics, preparing leadership-level reports and recommendations for quality improvements and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain and enhance the automation framework, testing tools, and CI/CD integrations to support continuous testing.
  • Mentor QA engineers and foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous learning within the QA team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate QA processes seamlessly into the development lifecycle and release workflows.
  • Proactively identify gaps in quality processes and lead initiatives for operational excellence and innovation in QA practices.
  • Explore and integrate AI-driven testing solutions to enhance automation efficiency, such as intelligent test generation, self-healing scripts, and predictive defect detection.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in manual and automation testing and 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Development and execution of test plans and scenarios.
  • Experience in writing automated tests in Selenium, Cypress, and Appium, Robot Framework.
  • Testing complex GUIs, APIs, and platforms.
  • Source control management like Git, Bitbucket, etc.
