Job Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for conducting high-level analyses of revenue, cost of sales, client margins, SG&A expenses and various system data to identify historical trends, current operations and future projections. They will work closely with senior management to provide reporting that informs critical decisions regarding revenue/client and expense management.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can analyze data creatively and innovatively. The successful candidate will have strong accounting skills, including proficiency in Excel, as well as the ability to interpret business transactions and journalize properly.

The Senior Financial Analyst will also be responsible for developing familiarity with our projection model, updating metrics needed for accurate and timely projections, creating financial models, preparing projections and performing research and analysis on all aspects of finance and operations.

Additionally, this role involves meeting with the VP of Finance to develop project plans and communicate status, updating the projection model as needed to accurately project new/revised data and communicating changes.

  • Analyze statistics and utilize principles of accounting to analyze past and present operations as well as future revenues and expenditures.
  • Develop familiarity with our projection model. Update metrics needed for accurate and timely projections which may include revenue, sales and labor by client and a host of detailed analyses.
  • Create financial models, prepare projections and perform research and analysis on all aspects of finance and operations.
  • Meet with the VP of Finance to develop project plans and communicate status.
  • Update projection model as needed to accurately project new/revised data and communicate changes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting with ability to interpret business transactions and journalize properly.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Recommend financial action based on accounting options.
  • Assist with budgeting processes which may include information gathering, analysis and reporting from a variety of systems
  • Using on-line training as well as on the job training, become a subject matter expert on Business Intelligence (BI) in Ultimate Software.
  • Design and maintain user reports in BI that help analyze and provide data to other departments as well as Finance.
  • Use internal software and metrics to provide departmental budget and actual data and related analyses.
  • Other reporting as needed.
  • May develop, install, and maintain accounting systems that provide control of GL, reporting, receivables, and expenditures.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Administrative tasks to support all above functions.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects related to internal and external customers, team members and management.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
