Job Overview

The role of a Collection Specialist involves performing collection activities to ensure that past due accounts and balances are manageable, effective, and efficient. This includes but is not limited to calls, communication with customers, settlement negotiation, timely referrals for outsourcing, legal actions, release of loan documents, and other relevant tasks.

As Agency Coordinators
  • Ensure that external agencies managed are professional, skilled, properly trained, and continuously developed through regular assessment and evaluation of competencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and productivity of collection agencies and recommend improvements on strategies and processes towards quality, effective, and efficient executions and results.
  • Ensure that external agencies implement strategies cascaded to achieve collection and productivity targets, comply with bank requirements on collection efforts, reports submission, productivity, and set policies and procedures.
  • Attend to and ensure timely actions on accounts requiring special handling that cannot be resolved at the agency level. Special handling includes but is not limited to negotiation, disputes, balance reconciliation, release of loan documents, refunds, debit of funds, reversal/waivers, accounts qualification for adjustment, and issuance of certificate of full settlement through the use of collection systems and reports.
  • Conduct agency visits and review call recordings to ensure they are following established standards when conducting calls to customers.
As Court Liaison/Legal
  • Attend court hearings as the authorized representative of the bank, review account history prior to the court hearing, assist external agencies with Writ Implementation (if necessary), provide feedback on court lawyers in terms of attendance, knowledge, and performance, and review and consolidate relevant documents needed during the court hearing.
  • Monitor the status of accounts/properties with special problems and those under ROPA In Litigation for the purpose of lifting injunction orders to enable the bank to proceed with consolidation and gain possession of acquired properties.
  • Prepare client documents and review correctness and completeness of legal documents prior to securing final signatures from authorized personnel.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Studies, Administration, Management, Finance, Accountancy, Banking or equivalent is required.
  • Relevant experience in the field is essential.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
