Senior Linux Systems Administrator

A key member of our team will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our Linux-based systems.

Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking a skilled professional to design and implement efficient Linux-based solutions, leveraging their expertise in system administration to drive business success.
  • The successful candidate will consult with clients on security, availability, and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring their IT systems are optimized for maximum uptime.
  • This role involves participating in customer projects, from small-scale deployments to large-scale transitions, requiring strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience transitioning customers' IT systems into our operations, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to bring their ideas and expertise to the table, working closely with our Operations teams to drive service development and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • A relevant bachelor's degree and technical certifications are essential for this role.
  • The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of UNIX/Linux administration, supporting large-scale/global sites from remote locations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of solid experience in daily operations/system administration with two or more UNIX/Linux flavors is required.
Key Skills:
  • Networking, internal firewall concepts
  • Logging mechanisms
  • High availability technology (at least one)
Primary Operating Systems:
  • Ability to write/debug shell scripts
  • Consultant mindset and comfort in a changing environment with multiple tasks
  • Proficient knowledge of complex server operations with several years of Red Hat or SUSE Enterprise Linux
  • Experience on one or more Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Relevant courses and certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA)
  • Knowledge of bash-shell scripting, Python scripting, and preferably Ansible Playbooks
  • Familiarity with basic ITIL processes
Nice to Have:
  • RHCA (Red Hat Certified Architect) or other advanced certifications
  • Addtional technologies
  • HP-UX, SLES, Ubuntu, AIX
Add-ons:
  • PowerHA
  • Scripting with Ansible
  • Experience with SAN/NAS and storage technologies (e.g., 3PAR, EMC VMAX/VNX/VPLEX)
  • Symantec NetBackup and other backup solutions experiences
  • Familiarity with HP enclosure and HP tools (iLO and OA) and other blade technologies
  • Ability to explain technical matters in non-technical terms to non-technical management
