Technical Drafter Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Drafter with specialized experience in furniture production to join our client's design and manufacturing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in drafting, deep knowledge of materials and construction methods used in furniture making, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
  • Translate design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents
  • Prepare exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes
  • Maintain organized documentation of all revisions, drawings, and technical records

Required Skills:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing or millwork industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production
  • Familiarity with CNC production workflows, material optimization, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus
  • Experience working with global or distributed teams is a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Revit, or other drafting/CAD software
