Clinical Data Specialist


We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our healthcare IT team. The role focuses on clinical data validation during an electronic health record (EHR) migration. You will review, compare and validate patient data from the source system to the new platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Data Validation & Review
    • Review patient records post-migration to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Compare data fields in the new EHR against the legacy source, identifying discrepancies.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Conduct spot checks on high-complexity patient charts, focusing on critical data elements.
    • Work with team leads to resolve exceptions or error logs from the automated migration process.
  • Clinical Judgment & Escalation
    • Identify clinically significant discrepancies and escalate these issues to stakeholders.
    • Provide input on clinical workflows and possible improvements in data mapping.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate validation logs, noting all changes or corrections made during the review process.
    • Generate reports summarizing validation progress, error rates and systemic issues discovered.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality
    • Uphold HIPAA, GDPR or other relevant privacy/security regulations when handling patient data.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information throughout the migration and validation process.
