Job Description:

The Accounts Receivable Representative role involves securing revenue generated by sales, building strong customer relationships, and fostering positive interactions to drive ongoing business partnerships.

This position requires effective communication with customers via phone, email, or fax to discuss outstanding invoices and billing issues. The representative will manage a collections portfolio of 300-600 accounts, making approximately 40 customer contacts per day.

Negotiations with customers are necessary based on account status to ensure maximum payment recovery. Developing and maintaining relationships with customer accounts is crucial, as well as championing the receivable policy.

Collaboration with internal sales reps is essential for proactive troubleshooting of payment issues. Documenting and tracking collections activity from monthly aging reports is also vital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact B2B customers to discuss outstanding invoices and billing issues.
  • Manage a collections portfolio of 300-600 accounts.
  • Negotiate customer payment terms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer accounts.
  • Work with internal sales reps to troubleshoot payment issues.
  • Document and track collections activity.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A completed college diploma in Accounting or Finance, or related experience.
  • Two to three years of experience in corporate (B2B) collections.
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable escalation processes.
  • A good understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
