Corporate Accounting Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Corporate Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role involves delivering exceptional accounting services to our clients, including financial reviews, bank feed updates, payroll recording, and client communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Bank Feeds: Code transactions from each bank or credit card account according to established procedures.
  • Bank Account Reconciliations: Assist with end-of-month reconciliation for assigned client accounts.
  • Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile client credit card activity.
  • Monthly Financial Review: Follow up with clients on unrecorded income/expenses; cross-check statements for accuracy.
  • Payroll Recording: Record payroll transactions using templates; prepare journal entries; upload to QuickBooks and/or Xero.
  • Accounting Cleanup: Assist with cleanup in areas such as revenue coding, payroll, balance sheet accounts.

Requirements:

  • Background in Accounting or understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented; able to learn new concepts with written and hands-on support.
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Xero.
  • Understanding of property management accounting.
  • Familiarity with the NARPM Standard Chart of Accounts.
  • Experience in AppFolio or related reports.
  • Payroll processing and payroll tax filing experience.
  • Prior experience with financial auditing or financial review.
