Job Description

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned WordPress professional with 5+ years of hands-on experience in custom theme development, including multisite configuration, custom themes, plugins, ACF, and Gutenberg editor.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers to ensure effective execution of projects and meet deadlines.
  • Act as the main communication point between the development team, management, and clients to ensure clear understanding of project goals and progress updates.
  • Solve problems and resolve conflicts when needed.
  • Build web applications using custom WordPress themes and plugins, applying web development best practices.
  • Transform app designs into front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Create immersive user experiences with micro animations while maintaining excellent performance scores.
  • Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code.
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical requirements or UX design.
  • Design and manage website architecture, including database and server integration.
  • Maintain the platform's WordPress core while building customizable solutions that meet business needs.
  • Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to best practices in WordPress development.
  • Work with a team to integrate UI components with APIs and databases.
  • Manage on-site search engine optimization (Yoast SEO).
  • Integrate data from various front/back-end services and databases using REST-API.
  • Navigate and utilize the WPEngine dashboard.
  • Monitor the performance of live websites using tools like Page Speed Insights and GTMetrix.
  • Collaborate with the development team to develop and maintain websites.
  • Create and integrate quality assurance tests to ensure website success and security.
  • Conduct WordPress training with clients when needed.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Attend regular meetings/check-ins with the dev team, project managers, and business stakeholders.
