Web Development Specialist

VirtueStaff is seeking a skilled and innovative Web Development Specialist to design and build websites using Squarespace. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Squarespace platform and an eye for visual appeal.

This role focuses on leveraging Squarespace's capabilities to create professional and visually appealing websites. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new websites from scratch and redesign existing sites using the Squarespace platform
  • Collaborate with clients or project managers to understand and implement design and functional requirements
  • Apply modern design principles and best practices for typography, color theory, and layout to create visually compelling, branded websites
  • Manage website projects from initial concept through to final launch, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure websites are fully functional, responsive, and optimized for different devices
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for live websites, including content updates and troubleshooting

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Squarespace development and website design, with a portfolio of previous work to demonstrate proficiency
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in website development
  • Deep proficiency with the Squarespace platform, including its native design features, templates, and e-commerce functionality
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design choices and collaborate effectively with clients
