Financial leadership is crucial in driving the success of an organization, and as a Senior Financial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of our not-for-profit client.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior financial roles, preferably in non-profit or community organizations. A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification is essential, with post-graduate qualifications highly regarded. The successful applicant will possess strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations, including the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), superannuation, ASIC, and ACNC frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations & Compliance: Manage payroll, superannuation, and ensure timely settlement of liabilities.
  • Receivables & Invoicing: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on payments, and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Expense Monitoring & Financial Oversight: Track spending, adhere to budgets, investigate transactions, and oversee cash flow and liabilities.
  • Bookkeeping Support & Coordination: Provide transaction data to bookkeepers, ensure account reconciliation, and respond to financial inquiries.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare financial reports for the Board, assist auditors, and provide financial insights for decision-making.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5+ years in a senior financial role, preferably in non-profit or community organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations, including the ATO, superannuation, ASIC, and ACNC frameworks.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and policy development.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MS Excel/Google Sheets, and ideally Salesforce.
  • Leadership skills, results-driven, and team-building abilities.
  • High ethics and integrity, committed to the organization's mission.
  • Reliable, accountable, and capable of meeting deadlines in remote work settings.
