About the Role

Primer seeks an accomplished General Ledger Accountant to support the Head of Finance and Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, adhering to GAAP and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • The primary role of the GL Accountant is to facilitate month-end close procedures and associated workpapers. This involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards and maintaining precise records.

  • You will oversee the entire fixed asset lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal, involving tracking capital expenditures, calculating depreciation, and performing periodic reconciliations.

  • You will coordinate with the Revenue/Receivables team to drive timely cash applications.

  • Month-end close activities include preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts.

  • Intercompany account reconciliation and elimination entries for consolidating multiple legal entities are also key responsibilities.

  • You will assist in preparing schedules and providing documentation for annual financial audits.

  • Interface with the accounts payable team to ensure proper expense classification and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as an in-house accounting professional with expertise in preparing month-end close reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.

  • A university degree in accounting, with a CPA (or equivalent international charter) preferred but not required.

  • Strong proficiency in NetSuite and Ramp is essential, along with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP accounting and advanced proficiency in lease accounting are highly valued.

  • Dedication to advancing K-8 education and a passion for accounting are essential qualities.

  • Able to pass an international background check and provide satisfactory references.

  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities are critical.
