Shopify Developer Position

About the Role

This project-based Shopify developer role involves creating a new Shopify site, migrating content from an existing site, and implementing automations and UI improvements. The engagement is expected to last approximately 2–3 weeks at 20 hours per week.

The successful candidate will have experience in building Shopify sites aligned with brand guidelines using OS 2.0 themes, transferring and organizing content, configuring navigation and collections, setting up automations, and applying design improvements for readability, mobile responsiveness, and conversion.

Responsibilities
  • Create a new Shopify site that meets brand standards using an appropriate theme.
  • Migrate content from the previous website, including pages, FAQs, sponsor highlights, and event details.
  • Configure navigation, collections, and essential pages for clarity and ease of use.
  • Implement light, reliable automations tied to key site actions, such as contact forms and ticket confirmation messaging.
  • Set up basic integrations as needed to reduce manual processes.
  • Document automation flows for easy client handoff.
  • Apply design improvements to increase readability, mobile responsiveness, and conversion without overcomplicating the build.
  • Optimize page layouts for event highlights, sponsors, FAQs, and calls-to-action.
  • Ensure consistent styling aligned with brand tone and prioritize function over heavy redesign.
  • Test cross-browser/mobile responsiveness, page speed basics, forms, and checkout/app flows.
  • Launder DNS/launch the site safely with rollback plan and clear go-live checklist.
  • Provide post-launch support for fixes and polish.
Qualifications
  • Proven Shopify expertise with a portfolio showcasing live Shopify builds.
  • End-to-end website creation experience, including theme setup, content migration, and go-live.
  • Hands-on experience implementing simplified automations within a Shopify context.
  • Strong front-end skills for customization and troubleshooting.
  • Availability for a 2–3 week, project-based engagement at 20 hours per week.
