Cloud Native Systems Engineer Position

The Cloud Engineer works closely with cloud platform engineering, architecture and development teams to run and operate cloud-native systems and services. This includes deployments and monitoring of all systems through established tools.

Main Responsibilities:
  • DevSecOps Support: Supports DevSecOps tools, pipeline, automation and infrastructure-as-code scripts.
  • Automation Execution: Executes established automation for updates.
  • Incident Response: Participates in incident response, root cause/postmortem analysis, and drives production improvements for key issues.
  • Service Availability: Provides guidance on enabling and managing end-to-end availability and performance of mission-critical services.
  • Automation Development: Works on building automation to eliminate waste and manual/repetitive tasks.
  • Kubernetes Cluster Management: Supports Kubernetes cloud clusters in Azure and AWS, including cluster management, upgrades, security policies and application deployment.
  • Terraform Automation: Executes and manages infrastructure-as-code automation with Terraform.
Requirements:
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Working knowledge of infrastructure operations and engineering concepts in AWS and Azure.
  • Problem Solving: Strategic problem solving, analytical and decision-making ability.
  • Metrics Driven Mindset: Desire to measure and continuously improve with a metrics-and-reporting mindset.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience building, maintaining, monitoring, logging and optimizing cloud-native business solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes environments, GitHub Actions libraries and scripting.
