Job Title: System Reliability Specialist

Overview: This is a highly technical role where you will be responsible for maintaining the operational excellence of complex systems. You must possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to design, develop, and implement solutions that ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and manage monitoring systems to identify potential issues before they affect users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and resolve system bottlenecks.
  • Participate in incident management and on-call rotations to ensure prompt resolution of critical issues.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, or similar role.
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including experience with database design, performance tuning, and advanced querying techniques.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools like AWS CDK.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or SigNoz.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or Typescript.
  • Proven ability to design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Above and Beyond
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and excited to tackle new challenges.
  • Knowledge or experience with low-code tools or robotic process automation.
  • Familiarity with advanced backend concepts such as state machines, distributed systems, or network protocols.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
