Finance Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in accounting, finance, and financial analysis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and posting day-to-day journal entries for various transactions, including accruals and adjustments.
  • Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Performing bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with financial statement inquiries.
  • Drafting and sending invoices to clients and/or drafting bills received from vendors.
  • Consolidating documents and sending them to relevant parties.
  • Supporting the integration of systems, processes, and reporting structures.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as an accounting professional, preferably with experience in external and/or internal audit, or an accounting firm.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with all Microsoft Office applications and the Google Workspace.
  • The ability to understand and dissect legal agreements between entities.
  • Experience in using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, and Zoho.
  • The ability to reconcile external documentation and company records to ensure that transactions match and resolve discrepancies.
  • The ability to make adjustments as needed, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation entries.
  • Experience in intercompany reconciliation.
  • The ability to comprehend essential financial statements like the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
  • Collaborative and approachable teamwork skills.
