Job Title: Database Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Management Specialist to oversee the daily management of our databases.

  • Administer and maintain databases, focusing on performance optimization and regular maintenance
  • Support database administration tasks, including backup management, data recovery, and monitoring system health
  • Establish proactive monitoring systems using Zabbix or similar tools to ensure optimal database performance
  • Troubleshoot slow-running queries and resolve transaction-related issues such as deadlocks, hung transactions, and locking problems
  • Design, implement, and test robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues to address database challenges efficiently and effectively
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in MySQL administration
  • Familiarity with MS SQL Server administration
  • In-depth knowledge of storage engines (InnoDB vs MyISAM)
  • Proven expertise in query optimization and troubleshooting performance issues
  • Experience with deadlock resolution and transaction management
  • Backup/restore strategy implementation skills
  • Familiarity with Zabbix monitoring or similar tools
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical issues to non-technical team members
  • A results-driven approach to problem-solving with a growth mindset
  • Strong team collaboration skills and ability to contribute to a supportive work culture
