Geospatial Python Developer Role

This mid-level role sits at the intersection of software development and operations, designing, building, and maintaining internal tools and automation systems to streamline workflows for operations teams and enhance the customer experience.

  • You will design, develop, and maintain internal tools and scripts using Python to support operations workflows.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes for spatial data into relational databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Automate data transformation and processing pipelines to improve efficiency and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with operations and product teams to identify opportunities for tool development and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and support internal tools and workflows in both production and development environments.
  • Evaluate and ensure code quality through version control, testing, code reviews, and comprehensive documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Python development.
  • Hands-on experience with geospatial tools such as QGIS, PyQGIS, or GIS libraries like GDAL/OGR, Shapely, or GeoPandas.
  • Demonstrated experience in scripting and automating data processing tasks.
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently from concept through to delivery.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
