Accounts Payable Expert

We are seeking a skilled accounting professional to join our team as an accounts payable specialist/staff accountant. Our company is dedicated to unlocking brine resources and providing essential raw materials for the battery industry.

As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for facilitating timely payments to vendors, streamlining processes, and implementing controls. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.

Job Description:

Our ideal candidate will perform and manage accounts payable tasks within our procure-to-pay process, verify and establish vendor accounts, work directly with vendors to ensure timely and accurate payments, maintain vendor W-9's and resolve questions in a timely manner, assist with annual 1099 statement processing and work with engineers, purchasers, and accounting staff to assign project codes and general ledger coding, maintain and update the Accounts Payable Policy and narrative to ensure compliance with internal controls, prepare monthly account reconciliations and assist with variance expense analysis, interact with department managers to understand spending activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of US GAAP.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of AP and/or General Ledger accounting.
  • Experience in month-end processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to pitch in with assorted tasks.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours.

Preferred Skills:

  • Coupa experience.
  • NetSuite procure-to-pay process.
